SERVICE DOG PROGRAM
Develop a qualified, reliable Service Dog team—built on standards
Service Description
This program provides structured guidance for individuals seeking to develop a legitimate Service Dog team through appropriate assessment, training, and adherence to established standards. We begin with a comprehensive evaluation of your dog’s temperament, stability, and suitability for service work. Not every dog is a candidate, and early, objective assessment is critical to avoid wasted time, cost, and emotional strain. From there, we map out a personalized training pathway focused on the behaviors and task work required for real-world function. Emphasis is placed on neutrality, impulse control, environmental stability, and reliable response under distraction—foundational elements of any working service dog. You will be guided through: Temperament and suitability assessment Identification of required task work based on individual need Development of public access behavior and handling skills Training progression aligned with established expectations for service dogs Understanding applicable legal frameworks, including ADA guidelines For teams ready to advance, we offer formal evaluations to measure readiness and ensure the dog can perform consistently in public and task-specific settings. This is a disciplined, standards-based process designed to produce a dog that is not only trained—but dependable, appropriate, and capable of functioning in real-life environments.
